Time warp Europa built page 8.

My dad has the exact same bike in parents' garage. In search of my retro Raleigh build, it crossed my mind very briefly to go with the convenience of using it; after reading the above, I'm glad I avoided it.

Granted, I do love the paint job though and yours polishes up beautifully.

Just put some 531 stickers on it and flog it on eBay (joke).

Re: Positive or negative?

Could someone explain what a" yoghurt pot roadie" is. I have never heard of that term before.
Regards,
Richard Lees.

I make up my own terminology but I think others have use yoghurt similarly.

Yoghurt pot roadie- a road cyclist on one of the modern indistinct, possibly hydro-formed characterless cookie cutter but probably hyper-efficient semi-melted possibly composite road bikes with no soul.

Edit: that change gear with an uncouth hollow clatter rather than the gentle sound of leather on willow.

Re:

Would 'soul' be the right word? Or sentimentality?

Whatever does it for you, who cares, just ride! :xmas-cool:

Without a doubt. Each to their own.

You do know where you are? :D

My race bike is good for it's intended purpose (racing), but a pain to live with for anything more than about 30 miles.

Hence the retro steel bike I'm building; this site is very inspiring.
