what's he up to these days? last time i remember seeing him was at one of the last mayhem's at sutton park, think he had a DDG branded Xc bike, don't know if he was racing though as he wasn't in race kit at the time.

Postman in Derbyshire I believe

i had heard that but wasn't sure if it was true, bet he's quick on his round!! :D

Ive got some nice candid race day photos of Tim during the Grundig WC XC in Strathpeffer.

.

post them on this thread. :D

I have found many pictures and articles on a collection of MoutainBike Action I just owned last week : from december 89 to december 93.
I saw some articles on his fisrt victory in USA, in 1990 ;)

Absolute hero..

Must have been great racing against him Tim (Davies), and winning the 89 National Champs...

Certainly think there would be a market in a book about racing in the late 80's early 90's.

Rich

Tim's not that elusive, although you need to know where to find him :D
As mentioned above he's a postman in Derbyshire, in more or less the same are that he grew up in.

He appears at local events now and then as his children race sometimes, and he's also involved in coaching youngsters.

He was elusive when I raced against him - usually after the first hill when we never saw him again ;)

I remember thinking the same about you a few years ago, when you started riding cyclocross again
