Re:

Tie (ty) because it's named (British by the way) after Titan. So work out how you pronounce Titan and you have it.

In science and industries I've worked in we pronounced it Tie, as it is the abbreviation of Titanium ;-) It's shorthand speech for when you use it in a chemical equations which may be pronounced T I at that point, depending on how it flows. but singularity it would be referred to as Ti (Tie) or Titanium.
(or basically when it's used as a word, it is T-eye, when used as the symbol (which Ti is) it's T I

The Americans can pronounce it how they like as can the rest of the world.

The poll seems to have finished ?

Wow!

Al-yoo-min-umm or Ul-ew-min-ee-um

F*ck it, tomayto / tomarto. Let's call the whole thing off

I need to go back to planning the Tee-Mega assembly...

This has been bothering me!

titan - tie-tn - sounds like "tighten"
I don't think "titan" and "tighten" are exact homophones - at least, not in my accent. The division of "tighten" is closer to tight-(n) with the closing t of "tight" a glottal stop.

ti-mega - tie mega
I meant, of course, tie me-ga - an antibacchius.

As you were.

Ti is the chemical symbol for titanium on the periodic table, where it's pronounced 'tee eye', surely that's a good enough precedent for how to say it?.
Came here to say just that. Anyone pronouncing Ti-Mega differently clearly didn't do chemistry at school!

Yea, I agree. Didn't see the poll the first time I read this, but have registered my opinion now.

I think a case like the Ibis Bow-Ti gets a pass because it was clearly a tongue-in-cheek pun. But EVERYTHING Ibis did was tongue-in-cheek. Not sure that's the case with most other brands, who tend to take themselves much more seriously than they should.
