My 1992 and 1994 are both 27.2

thats wierd. Are they bigger frame sizes?

19" and 20" respectively.

Like above, it should sit fine without doing the clamp up, slide in nicely, not having to force it in, and not falling all the way in if you let go.

To add, not all seat posts are the same diameter, regardless of what is stamped on them, even the same make post, I have various seat posts stamped the same size and only a couple are. The Hei Hei is 27.0, but not all my 27.0 seat posts fit.

My 1994 Hei Hei will take a 27.0 or 27.2.
