Thru axle or QR?

Most TA hubs will have sealed bearings… some of which are very small. I sold my QR touring bike which racked up thousands of miles on budget Shimano hubs, needing nothing more than the odd re-grease yet my new TA wheels on my new bike needed bearings in <1000 miles / 12 months. Not happy.

Thru axle is a good, but inessential, innovation. That said, I would definitely have them if the option was there. My trailer, connected via the QR to bike, once pulled it out of the frame due to the weight. No way that can happen with thru axle.
