threading klein cables

is easy peasy took about an hour,all done thanks to searching around abit on the forum.

how did you do it?

Did you use the:

needle + cotton + vacum cleaner method?

This has worked for me every time.

no,i ripped all the liners out,bent the last few mm of the cable a tad and threaded it through,came out the holes within seconds,then made sure all metal contact points had inner liner on them so they wouldnt rub.

Yeah I ended up using the same technique on the Trimble - just poked around till I got there... :shock:

method

Get a reel of good strong black thread, or fishing line. KEEP IT ON THE SPOOL / REEL!

Tie a knot in the end.

thread it through one of the cable routing holes

put tape over all the other frame holes bar the one you want it to come out of.

put your vacum cleaner (pipe attatchment) over the hole you want it to come out of.

switch it on.


hey presto!


use this threaded line to thead your plastic guide pipes back through the frame and then your ready to cable it up.

takes 2 minutes

I tries this with a very elaborate vac-taped up contraption and it didnt work.

You gotta make sure all your holes are blocked I guess so it can get a good enuff suction....

Love the clever ideas tho. The magnet one didnt work for me either. Bah!

I have been lucky enough for it to work on each of the Kleins I have worked. So many people are silly enough to uncable without thinking
