hey u all

noticed two three old threads here on rb regarding the matter.. conclusion on every was that there never were such thing as a sram 9.0sl front mech in srams 97 line.. but just recently, searching for something else, i came across this

..and to my eyes it looks like it do excist.. maybe not any longer, but it makes you wonder right... hmmm.... I won't it :) pretty rare i'm thinking.. been searching the ebay for 9.0sl parts for some years now, coming across some woodys and betsys, but never this front mech.. sigh.. what to do?

also sunn's 98 cataloge show top end bikes with mysterious white front mechs.. must be someone who got this when they bought new back then

or maybe they never were realesed, what do i know, one things for sure though - they were build

(i want to belive) :]

According to Sunnproteam the anonymous front derailleurs in the 98 Sunn catalogue are Sachs Quartz.
Just learnt that and thought of your post, read a long time ago, thanks Google :D

Nice thread resurrection  I agree the front mechs in 97 catalogue are Sachs Quarz, but I don't think the ones in the 98 catalogue are. The spec sheet in the 98 catalogue also clearly shows a choice of Shimano or SRAM rear mechs and shifters, but only lists Shimano front mechs. The mysterious white front mechs in the pictures don't look like Shimano to me, but they don't look like the one in the picture above to me either, unless there were variations for top/down pull/swing.
So, did you ever find one in real life? I've never seen one. Got a couple of ESP9.0 front mechs but they are totally different, just renamed Sachs Centara mechs I think.

hi,
it is me "sunnproteam" ! ;)
so according to me , i was thinking that it was a quartz.
but when i ve seen your paper up, and it makes me trouble.
because mech on catalog seems very identical to this one sram 9.0.

but on a sunn frame 97-98, it is only a up cable.

i get my catalog and i come back...

i 've always not sur about mech on pict in 98'catalog.

but now, i compare both (catalog and your pict from sram)
and it is sur that you re right

it was a 9.0 sram mech.

but i've never never seen one of this on a bike !

for me if it exist, it is only in pré série or prototyp.
