Well I'm not allowed any more bikes after buying Gertrude. That was the deal so. Free ads are a great place to pick up stuff. After sitting trackside for a few years I have decided that my back isn't what it was and that I need a 'Campaign Chair'. Something befitting my stature and with a historical bent.
With that in mind I spotted this. Being offered locally for free by an antique dealer up near Stow. I combined pick up with a dog walk at the top of Stanway Hill and brought home my treasure.
Prepare to be underwhelmed. I think it's an old 1930s reclining/sliding steamer chair that would have had a matching foot stool. I plan to cut, hinge and bolt the arms, reupholster or maybe use a garden seat pad for the cushions and attach a suitable drinks table on the right....... Lots of love and care required. Will go well with a crystal tumbler of scotch and my tweed!
