i build it with parts i had lying around. (xt m730, suntour, ...) tires are schwalbe winter tires with studs.

grtz, Danny

I've been riding my winter commuter all summer and my summer commuter last and this week

Is that a set of Suntour XC II pedals you´re using there?! Are you aware of the most recent prices paid for those pedals and how easily they can be detached from the crank? I would go with some cheaper and more unobtrusive ones on a commuter like Sakae Low-Fat or something like that... ;)

Just thinking that whatever you use(nice bike by the way) is liable by attack from salt.I dont know what theyre using these days but ive seen some recent alloy corrosion from salt that makes you think its a strong alkali theyre using :?

they look like shark bites to me.

but now you have made me worry that even if i lock my bike some scrote may steal my pedals

thanks everyone.

pedals are shark bites.

i'm aware of the salt corrosion, that's why i'm not using my zaskar.
this frame looks nice, but the bottle cage bolts are stuck and rattle in the frame. the bb is also very "deformed" i think the previous owner rode for a long time with a lose bb (or was very strong)

first ride today, and the geometry fels weird to me, and the mag 21 rebound is very slow and the seat post seems not to stay at the right height.

to do this weekend:

change the brakes to v brakes (for sale: xce canti's with almost new red ritchey blocks)

change the forks to a rigid fork (for sale mag 21, may needs a service, but holds air)

find a correct size seatpost so i can use the original shim. i think it is there for a reason.

find a high rise stem to try a drop bar.

btw: it seems that there are not so many retro bikers in belgium, so not to worried a low life retrobiker would only steal my pedals to sell them on ebay.
