As a roofer I've got a head for heights but that takes the biscuit!!! I've had a few 'moments' in my time, like getting into a window cleaners cradle 13 floors up and it being blown by the wind to what felt like a 45 degree angle then swinging around wildly when the wind dropped...
Or being in a scissor lift 120ft up and realising the reason it's beeping is because the outer legs are slowly sinking into the newly laid block paving
I've also met a few steeplejacks in my time, they're a different breed of nutter again - one of them showed me a photo of himself doing a handstand on the top of a power station chimney.... :shock: :shock: :shock:
I wouldn't be surprised if he doesn't get paid much though, he was only changing a bulb!!!

Watched the whole clip now, at work with a friend. We were almost shouting at him to put the safety clip on when he got to the top. Nutters :shock: .

I can scarcely believe that its legal practice. astonishing footage.
I'd have thought the wind speed and low temperature at those heights would be enough to render it virtually impossible.
Imagine going back down!!!! I always got stuck climbing trees when I was a kid, getting up is the easy part.....

Winds would be a problem, although I imagine that they check forecasts before they start climbing.
Actual temperatures aren't going to be much different to those on the ground, you'll have a bit of wind chill depending on the conditions.
And no - I wouldn't/couldn't do it, but someone has to - there's no other way to get up that last couple of hundred feet.
