hi all, sold my only realy working bike to sort my newly bought rock hopper, did i do that, NO!! , bought this now, going by spec would say its old enough to be on this part of the site

its running lx stuff an has xt hubs, seams ok, anyone know the model? vulcan? thanks in advance

welcome to the club. Looks like a tidy bike. I recall seeing that brand around my town BITD - my feeling is that it was yet another Taiwanese mass market bike that at the higher end produced some decent copies of the more main stream manufacturers designs. Nothing wrong with an LX/XT build with a Tange frame in my books. I bet you could sell that fork to one of the GT set here and replace it with a nice suspension fork.

It is fairly tidy. Few small bits an cables will be a good bike i hope. Nor
t to sure what iam doing with it yet but sure it will come in use as a bike or spares

How does it ride?

not rode it yet ha ha, got it home took pics hid it away, might take it for a spinn later, sat on it and feels nice, its a small ish bike for an 18inch so should do me witch is a shame as i was hoping it wouldnt so i didnt keep it ha ha

I take it you know that Carrera is Halfords own branded range

Frames made by various 3rd parties - nothing particularly wrong with them

Generally offered a decent groupset for the cash, but cut back on the finishing kit (bars, stem, pedals, saddle etc)

i know i used to work there ;) there not bad bikes after spannering on them, i think its the owners that let them down by not looking after them then moaning when they broke after never been serviced and kept out doors all year round, theres alot of kit on some for the money, ive been doing red an thee odd black runs on my voodoo an its doing well not even had to re true a wheel yet

I had a 90's carrera for commuting and enjoyed it very much, hope you enjoy this one, it's always good to have something around that you are not worried about!
