These Floating Rotors Any Good?

It's a good question! I have just ordered a 32t chainring from the same brand on Ali Express. It cost £0.97 delivered - yes 97pence! Ok it will take 3 weeks to get here but there is nothing to loose in trying!

I suspect for pootling around they will be great, but if you like to send it off the top of a mountain probably better sticking to the established brands ;/.

I am considering ordering a pair of those rotors myself, got to fit the Chinese brake hoses that I have on order first 😜

Thanks for the reply David. I've not used Ali express before.
Have you bought much on there?
Will we not get charged extra buying from China?

It appears they charge vat in advance, for low value purchases at least.

I have bought a few things over the years for cars and bikes. Nothing expensive though and always saved a packet in UK prices. Just si happens I need some parts for a low budget project so I have placed a few orders this week, probably more to come ;)

Thanks for the info there. I was looking at some rotors but it says "one pieces at most for customer"
It does show a new user bonus and £2.50 off store coupon.
You make sense if it's something you're not in a rush for

The listings can be a nightmare to navigate, if you have the time and inclination you can usually find what you want - but that slow boat from China.....

I bought a cheap floating rotor once. The thing had so much movement on the rivets straight out the box that I took it straight off again. With the brake applied it was like the headset was loose. I'm a weight weenie at heart so tend to stick to the Ashima rotors these days.

Thanks for input.
David, it takes some getting used to
Jim, I won't lie I thought they looked good.
gt, that doesn't sound very good, I haven't had anything to do with them before

Not personal experience but I remember someone asking about this, on this site maybe, having this problem with a known make of disc, a used one, a Hope possibly. They were advised to use 2 big ball-bearings that would fit in the big rivets and squeeze the rivet between the ball-bearings in a vice. This spreads/tightens rivet to take up play.
