UPDATE: I bought the bike minus front wheel, fork, and stem back from GoldenEraMTB! He gave me a good price and I couldn't pass it up. The paint job is one of my favorites. Considering sending it back to Vicious for a proper touch up.
Greetings again retrobikers. This here is my old Vicious Monolith 26" single speed with ebb. I bought this frame a bunch of years back and built it up with some sweet parts. Unfortunately I just didn't really do all that much riding with it. I was working a lot and just didn't have time to get out of the city and ride. Since I never felt like I had a history with this particular bike I was about to put it up for sale when GoldenEraMtb listed his Bontrager Race in a local classified ad for sale. He mentioned he would consider doing a trade if something to his liking came his way. So we brokered a deal and off this bad boy went for the Bonty in my signature. I've always coveted the Bontragers so this was a good deal for me and I have no traders remorse, and thanks to him I have met all of you!
I rather liked the ebb, although it made the frame pretty heavy. Or at least it seemed that way. I had bought a single speed kit off some guy on ebay who had amassed a part arsenal. All in all I was very pleased with this build, I probably would have liked this bike a bit more if I had a modern suspension fork to go with it. The one issue I always had with it was the many attempts to cover paint chips with mismatched nail polish. It was just bothersome to me.
