Love builds like this just for the sheer excess. For a lightweight build though the braided cables will add a fair bit of unnecessary weight?

The braided hoses may be a bit heavier, but in addition you get a way nicer braking point. They should eliminate the "spongy" feeling.

If I wanted to go as light as possible I would've picked different
components
