What I would say, as a man who has bought a fair few nearly-but-not-quite's in this past year...
Keep the faith!
Perhaps build up the frame you have and wait to find a larger some day, or, even better, someone with the opposite problem to you who has one that's too big and needs your 16"!
It does happen.
In fact, it's happened to me twice in the past month. With a member on here, no less!
Now we're both feeling happy, with two bikes coming to each of us, in the sizes we needed. Just took a little chat, a lot of trust, some concessions on my side and others on his.
