The perfect "cave" advice please

I've bagged an elecric heater and talked to the OH about stopping the draughts and it probably needs better lights. Bikestand can go out and yep, I fancy some sort of work bench (tend to use the ironing board at the moment - any excuse not to use it for it.s proper purpose)

I'm sure it will work and there's always the kitchen for really cold weather!

you will need a garage defender

beer

stereo

park workstand

big cupboard to hide those items that snuck in and the wife knows nothing about

Is G and T an acceptable substitute for beer? ......and in this case is the wife who needs the big cupboard for the clandestine parts - I've been known to assemble most of a bike and keep it under wraps for fear of discovery!

Mine has:-

About 250 bike and motorsport decals

work bench

now that's just showing off!

i'll take a picture of my shed for you all tonight then you'll know why i haven't built a bike in a while. it is rammed.

it started well with a good sturdy bench with storage underneath and a vice on top (essential with old bikes.)

i then made myself a huge extention lead and installed a fluroescent strip light that didnt work. awaiting my sparky mate to get it running.

then i lost my garage so the shed is now full of tools, mig welder, beetle and golf bits, 4 sets of alloys the list goes on.

it is now a case of open the door, throw stuff in and close before it all falls out.

if it gets broken into it'll kill the theif when everything falls on him/her/it

i think carpet is always good in a shed or garage. you always end up on your knees at some point.

and a bucket to get rid of waste beer/g and t

Some of these seem amazingly hi-tech guys! I'll post a pic when it's sorted in a few weeks.

Thanks for all the advice!

Does anyone remember Dan Tanna's 'cave'?

Vega$. Parking your vintage T Bird in your living room was the ultimate in cool.

My garage is pretty much dialed. Organization is the key when you're shy on space.

-2 benches
-vise
-shelving
-additional lighting (flourescents in the walls reduce shadows)
-mini driil press-belt/disc sander
-6" grinder
-parts washer
-compressor
-table + chairs
-laptop + WiFi
-TV w. DVD + VCR
-4.1 sound system
-Ultimate bike stand
-fridge
-parts boxes
