The One That Started it All For me,...

Dirt Disciple
1996 Diamondback V-Link 1.0, I was 20 years old and saw this bike hanging in the window at my local bike shop, just coming off an entry level Trek, I had to have it. The guy wasn't going to sell it, said it was a demo model that it wasn't for sale, after some pleading and hustling and 700 bucks later I loaded it in my truck. Got in a pinch a few years after that and had to sell it, wanted one ever since. This one popped up on C-list yesterday, all original, even tires when I picked it up, 5 hour round trip and only 100 bucks this time. I changed the seat, lubed and adjusted the derailleurs, rides like new again. This is an awesome bike that took anything I threw at it like a boss, glad to have one back.

Re:

Nice! I'd have been all over that for $100 if it was on my local CL. Reminds me of a Proflex Attack.

Re:

Thanks, its an awesome bike, 7005 aluminum with chromoly rear triangle and its an 18" which is my perfect fit, really stoked to have this.

Re:

Proflex were similar; but also looks like the (later) Specialized FSR-XCs from '99 onwards!
Apart from the forks, that looks really nice & hopefully a capable bike too! Never seen one of those DBs before either; don't know if they were US only or not(?) - but that's an awesome colo(u)r too

Re:

Thanks, suspension is still in perfect condition, fortunately has been kept indoors since new and not ridden much, I did swap over to a 90mm stem and 31.8 bars and also some 2.2 Bell Tires. Don't understand why they only made this model for one year, they sure did get it right. This bike handles great in the trails.
