Back in the day i bought a 1990 Yeti FRO and after a couple of years of infrequent riding i found motorbikes and booze to consume my time and hung the bike up until last year when i took it down and dropped it off with the fine guys at Bird Cycleworks who know their retro bikes better than i ever will to give her some love again. However, space is needed and sadly the Yeti finally has to go to a new home.
So in lieu of photos (bike is still with the Bird guys) i was seeking advice on the expected value / interest of a good condition FRO? It has the usual minor markings from trail riding but is structurally perfect, given the low miles (only on its 2nd ever set of tyres!). Age has got to the bumpers but apart from that the Manitou 2 forks are sweet.
The bike / frame is number 1062 meaning, as i understand, its the 712th bike Yeti made. She has the above mentioned Manitou 2 forks, XT build kit, running a Royce Ti bottom bracket, Middleburn cranks and rings, in white and 17.5inch frame. The bike spec is pretty much as it rolled out of the shop when i bought it.
I've no intention of splitting the bike, it would be an all or nothing sale.
Any advice would be most appreciated.
Thanks, Jock.
