Two totally different speakers. The 753 are built better and are physically of better quality but their sound can be an acquired taste depending on the music. They are in their 22nd year with me for a reason.
These B&W are a simple standard design but the top driver rearward firing port could do with being on the front or blocked up entirely. They came along much later than the 753 when Hifi was in a slump and it was expensive to manufacture. The cabinets are normal chipboard although the mid driver is a Kevlar weave but the dustcap is rather disappointing when compared to other stuff I'v played about with. My current amplification gives them quite a work out. They were available with a matching centre too for home cinema
They are alright but not to my taste - a bit too billowy in the bass. 753 are as still as tight as a chat's nuff.
