Yamaha CDX 860 CD player in black. French made and fantastic heavy build quality, everything works super smoothly. Front control panel flips to a hidden position when not needed (all functions accessible from the remote). Still sounds brilliant to this day, typical Yamaha ~ smooth, warm and natural sounding. Nice condition, fully working. Only damage to mention is the remote which has lost a bit of the transmitter cover, see photo, but it doesn't affect the operation.

£100 collected. Bracknell, RG12.

Funnily enough my Sondek's just been dropped off with a capable enthusiast for a bit of TLC and pimping. It's an early one from mid 1970s which hasn't seen many modifications. In for new PSU, tone arm cable and mains lead pus a few other bits - not spending silly money though. Original bearing has been declared "perfect" so it's staying put for now.
Black Ash plinth being sanded and oiled which will make it look brand new - will report back in a few weeks :)
Cost me £200 to buy in 2001 and I haven't spent anything on it since then.

amazing really how a nostalgia drive has reinvented an age old technology and made it an expensive hobby thats needed much like we now have wine buffs. i was a massive fan of vinyl dont get me wrong but the warmth is rumble and other noise like scratches and dust no matter how clean and gentle you are at the time was perceived as highly annoying and technology advanced in the 70,s with vacuum platters and air bearing linear arms and you can buy one of them for 30-40k second hand now. m,mmmm, i remember selling my deck and giving away a massive collection of records and replacing them with cd. convenience, size and still sounds as good after 10-100 plays. i cherished my vinyl but never got past 25-30 plays before clicks and bumps yada yada. not bashing boys as at 53 seen the tech come and go(reel to reel was fantastic!!) i love the convenience and cataloguing of my music in my pc with 2k dac(awesome). trying to play dsd and hear a difference was fun too when i could get them to even play!!! been reading this page for many years so i am not attacking just my tuppence worth. big luv music listeners and makers kaboooooomb!!!
