The mustard machine - Saracen Trekker 87

Great job Nick :) How are you finding the chain-stay mounted brake out of interest?

Re:

Thanks gents, yes has been a lot of fun and I'm really pleased with it.

The saddle is a iscalle replacement I bought of here, it's date stamped 87 and I think it's the same as the "mountain" saddle Saracen used on their 89 range.

Pedals are also different. Era Xt. It came with some beauty's but I wanted to get it rideable so put the xts on for now

I'm also on the hunt for a suitable qr for the seat post, currently an x lite binder bolt on there, which fits, looks cool but is about 5 years later.

U brake on the chainstay is fine, but will clog with mud if I were to go out in the mud

Will get some decent photos over the weekend so you can see the full glory!

Awesome

You've done a great job there Nick. When I get around to finishing the 88 yellow tufftrax we'll have to go for a ride.....like a pair of mods heading to the seaside on Vespas.

Only cool :-D

Re:

Lovely work on the bike and if your interested I've just put a 1990 saracen saddle up for sale.

Re:

Rides like a dream. Just need to fully pub bike it with a rack and mudguards.

Lovely Nick, that paint's come up beautifully. Lemme know when you've measured the seatpost clamp hole
