The Kili is back!

Having 3 Kilis I am I suppose biased! The steel one is very nice at c. 1300 quids, the Ti one at at least a grand and a half more (but I haven't read the spec) is simply very...expensive! I prefer the look of my c. 2000 one in 853 simply because of its wishbone rear (purely an aesthetic thing).

Neither of the new ones are what I would spend that much money on if I had it, though I probably would have done when I was 10 years younger. Indeed, given a free choice of any bike now at 1 to 2 grand I wouldn't have an mtb at all. If had to be an mtb then I'd go carbon (sorry!).

I doubt that they'll sell many - but that is probably neither here nor there.

Just nice to see a "British" high-class bike on the market.

Can I ask the folks that think 2K is a high price, what they would spend 2K on(bikewise that is) Looking at new of course.

To be honest if I had 2k to blow I would get myself a titanium something original retro and restore it to factory fresh then spend the rest on another day to day retro...easily achievable within 2 k

another reason why I would not buy it..it's not retro and for 2k there are far better modern bikes for the same purpose

2k .retro modern

.....Retro------modern........and two grand to spend........??????......mmmm

multiple factors make up a decision like this, (taste, style, type of use,fit/finish, quality of craftsmanship, even colour), but ultimately for me, it all comes down to which frame rides the best for me.....i would want to ride them ,!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :D

"BUT", if a ride wasnt possible, and given only the options pictured above, i think the purest in me, with rise to the surface.....!!!!!!, if i wanted a long travel play/crosscountry bike, the santa cruz would be bought. A well built american frame, with good heritage, its feet on the ground, small enough to care, and not generic.

If i wanted a crosscountry all day/race bike......mmmmm, both the specialized, and the cannondale, although they ride very well no doubt, would loose a few points due to the fact, the are in my eyes now generic, they are all spec"d well, for the budget, but the fact the kili frame is made of steel, by hand, by an english company with the reputation of quailty and craftsmanship, "ENIGMA". It says to me, the frame will stand the test of time, under 20 years of hard use, can be painted easily in later years after the abuse its taken, and look as good as new again, add the fact that its a lot more understated and less flashy, than the other two as well,? also for me, the fact that they are a smaller brand, and no doubt will be sold in relatively smaller numbers than the other two, will enhance the exclusivity of it no doubt as well. And who knows, maybe mint examples will show up here in 20 years time, and some future retro biker considers it there "UNICORN"...?????????????

You lot are animals....there will be no fight here.....misunderstanding thats all.......

Utter rubbish. Really sick of your attitude on occasion - made it super clear what would happen if you started on other users again. Given you had cooled your heels a bit and it is Xmas and all this final ban will only last 1 week. Although tbh not sure why I shouldn't make it permenant.

If you send me a 'clever' email it will be permenant.

After one week you can come back on. If I see you antagonising others, esp LGF I'll ban you for good and see to it you never come back on here.

....you are not that clever are you ;) .

Quite.

It looks nice and the colour is particularly smashing :D

But.. it's a little generic looking loose the fussy graphics - get some of the traditional block Saracen ones on it and put the pierced top tube/seat cluster back on. if your going to trade on your glory days do it proper.

As i see it, it's a very nice bike with a nice steel frame but not stand out special.
