Great stuff

I love mine to such an extent that I don't really consider it to be retro. It's as light anything you can get now and is so responsive to ride.

I notice your profile says you're in Leeds/oxford.
I spend most weekdays working in Leeds and have thought about bringing the Team up for some midweek rides...........

most the time im in Oxford these days to be honest, although I try to get up to Leeds frequently to keep up with friends & familly...and also to find some real hills.

hello everyone, been lurking for a while but thought it was about time I joined! My current collection of bikes includes: 70's Gazelle fixed gear, S&M dirt bike BMX, Brian Rourke track bike, several newer MTB's and a weird cruiser thing I found in the alley way next to my house.

I work in the bike trade as well and hope to contribute to the forums when i can.

Cheers!

I've also been lurking about for ages and finally decided to register and get amongst it.

Been riding since 1988 (Ridgeback 602 SIS), then upgraded to a Dave Quinn 653 frame and full XT in 1993. That bike is still going strong with slicks as my commuter.

Now riding an S-Works M5 hardtail from 2002 with slightly older Pace RC38 Evo fork and full XT from the turn of the century.

The Quinny might be of retro interest, but for the fact that I've ruined its original period credentials by putting 1997 V-brakes and horrible 1998 RST fork on it.

I'm new ish

Hello all.
I've browsed this madness for years. Finally registered.
Some cool bikes.
I'll get some pictures up of my old lot.
I've been riding forever,MTBing since '87,and never stopped.Dont intend to anytime soon either.
My first MTB was a muddyfox. Can you guess which one?I sold it in '89 to fund my next one ,a Diamond Back Axis. That was my'best' bike 'til 96 when i got one of the early, pre V brake GT LTS'.
After a good few years of hard service that was retired and I went back to the Axis ,supplemented with a 2000/01 Gary Fisher Big Sur.
With the exception of the GF (pre loved)all my bikes have been supplied by my long time good friend Alan Woods of Alan's BMX in Wigan. He has in recent years 'upscaled' to sell all types of bike. I "run/organise/do" his demo rides, which is another story.Mostly my mates ride his bikes but dont buy them . Hmm.

I always regretted selling the courier ( did you guess?) so occasionally in recent years i scanned th'Ebay for one.One came up a few months back and I 'won ' it.It is exactly like the one I had.Ace.However in 21 yrs it has seen less use considerably ,than mine did in the 2 yrs I had it.Imagine then a few weeks later a almost unrelated Email conversation ( with Alan)resulted in me 'finding' a '89 DB Axis. This was ,to me at least ,a bit special. It was owned /raced by former dead good BMX pro/God /hero ,Harry Leary. So I 'won' that too.Double ace. It was in california and i had a bit of a do getting it home ,but it arrived this week and it is amazing.
Oh ,and whilst it was en route , I rebuilt up the LTS. Blimey. Not totally original ,but fairly period ( about '88 ish ).Rear shocks not too clever . Hey ho. A busy month or so then.

My blog is linked from alansbikes shop site, under 'blog'.
(I cant link it yet)
demo rides.
caffiene induced madness.

Dont ever build a bike that's too nice to ride properly

I have a name . It's TIM.
And so it goes.
