try and persuade someone to sign off for £6 an hour. Whilst realistically you need to earn £15 to £30 an hour to live a basic life.
Meanwhile, back in reality...

There are millions of people living a basic life on half of your low figure. We don't need to double the NMW, we need to force, not persuade, cajole or encourage the workshy to become contributors and limit immigration to fill whatever qualified posts which are left.

£30 an hour is c. £60k a year ffs. That to the vast majority of people in the UK is unattainable mega money, not 'a basic life'.

Thanks for saving me some time.

First they came for the Socialists, and I did not speak out-- Because I was not a Socialist.

Then they came for the Trade Unionists, and I did not speak out-- Because I was not a Trade Unionist.

Then they came for the Jews, and I did not speak out-- Because I was not a Jew.

Then they came for me--and there was no one left to speak for me. :( :( :( :(

When bad men combine, the good must associate; else they will fall one by one, an unpitied sacrifice in a contemptible struggle

This thread needs an antiques reseller to wade in and liven things up a bit.

Why is debating a very real issue rediculous?? Just because you dont agree with some of the poins made does not make the topic unworthy of debate, especially in this democratic society that all of us enjoy here in the UK. People have a right to voice their concerns/opinions, or would you rather we didnt have a say?

Doesn't matter what he thinks. Public opinion is only going one way regardless of views on here.

Which will be demonstrated when UKIP muller the rest at the euros.

I suspect that, just as your views are contrary to the Scots' Zeitgeist in general, you are wholly wrong about public opinion. Meaningless protest votes are just that, and UKIP dines out on them.

Your beloved BNP are defunct; that is the only upside to the UKIP story so far.

If we get back to the debate here, i think this country is being slowly taken over by political correctness, a prime example is we are too scared of being branded racist for voicing opinions on the foreign population this country has readily embraced.
The way this country is going the british / english population will eventually become the minority.
I feel we are in danger of losing our identities as british citizens.
By all means fill this country with foreign citizens, i get on well with polish, Portuguese etc..
But not at the expense of our own british / english culture.

So , how far back into history do we have to go , before we were invaded by foreigners , and were truly British , with purely British identities and culture ? How many thousands of years are we talking here ?

I don't have any qualifications in history . However , were we not invaded by the Romans before 100AD ? Still what have the Romans done for us ?

And before them , didn't the vikings come here too ?

Food for thought , though obviously not pizza , not part of our culture is it .
