Re:

HI All,

I've just finished this rebuild. I've owned this since '98, bought as a custom build from Leisure Lakes in the UK. Mostly original, new:

Bushings
Shock (steal from eBay in 2010)
Bomber crown
Top link pivot (the dumbbell shaped one, cracked and had to have a stainless one made)
Rear mech (c2008)

I've just moved to Vancouver and needless to say the riding here is amazing. This is my only ride although I am saving for something special! She rides beautifully though after setting up as per the GT instructional videos. I spent a while putting 3M film on the frame as I had replaced decals many times before. Slow but not too bad with my wife's hairdryer, time and beer.

I'm very pleased with the result. I'm also pleased to introduce myself, there are some great bikes on here, kudos to you all.

Re:

Hi folks. Just got this finally mounted on the wall. Still got some cleaning up and detailing to do but I'm pretty happy with the result.

Nice !
Your seatpost is on the wrong way.

Ha ha..! Well spotted. I fitted it reversed because the other side is scratched like hip-hop vinyl, and was hoping nobody would notice..!

Re:

My STS DS1000 frame has just turned up. Courtesy of Frasers super 24hr delivery.

I'm so excited I can't decide whether to build it or polish it!

Pics (and a proper build thread in the right place), to follow.

Am I right seat post clamp is 34.9?

Front mech is 31.8?

And what's the difference between the RS super deluxe and the RS coupe deluxe rear shocks?

Thanks
Matt

Welcome to the Vancouver/Canada area ... but aren't those photos from the Okanagen region?
