the green tractor

There is something very, very right about that bike.

It looks very 'workhorse', so if your in a position to change from DX then I would go for M735 XT which would suit it just right.

Cool bike.

XC Pro would be cool, too, but since you already have Shimano on there I would go with XT.

the green tractor ploughs again...

i'm remembering now that this is a custom color that cost/wait was extra. at the time, my best riding buddies all had expressos and a minimalist esthetic was rampant. the one who helped my girlfriend arrange the frame had a harvest gold expresso with custom pho-wood decals! he was aghast at the thought of putting the stock black or white decals on this frame and thus i was supplied with the custom green ones.

i've always gone with the 'international harvester' look because, compared to my stumpjumper, this thing seemed to crank up rock faces like a high torque farm implement.

as can be seen, the drive train needs some attention and maybe thats where i will begin. appreciate all the advice and kind words!

That's a beautiful looking bike..... I'd be tempted to keep as-is.

If there's chi-chi parts in the offing .... hmmmm, XTR mechs and shifters, Royce, King or Hope hubs, Middleburn cranks, Paul Component brakes and levers... would be tempted to get custom anno green parts too but different alloys give different tones.

Welcome to the site :)
