I really enjoy looking at photos of peoples local trails from around the world so I thought that now the weather is warming up a little I'd take the camera with me today and share a bit of my modest local trail. "The great dividing trail" is a walking track that apparently runs a good 300k from Melbourne out through central Victoria (Australia) and is for the most part is open to cyclists. I can meet one of the prettier sections of it about a k from my house so I try to get up there whenever I can.

Thanks to Gil-m for the real levers. Paired up with some Pedersen Self energizers I have finally found a brakeset that I'm happy with. You can also see my lycra and high end cycling shoes in this shot :oops:

The sky looked ominous so back by road I passed this old house that always makes me smile. I don't know how many times I sailed past it before it dawned on me that it is two train carriages with a roof plonked on top. I'd love to have a peek inside.

You have to love it when it starts raining the second you get in.

Oooh, so nice.

I am in Australia end of september/beginning october.
Unfortunatley no biking for me....... :cry:

Heve fun there,

Cheers,
Martin

Nice looking trail, looks lonely which is just my sort of thing as well. Liking the Specialized as well. One of the full sussers i'd like to try.

Carl.

I was just looking at that thread. what the hey, I'll pop it in there.

Thanks for the replies, funny how we take for granted our own back yards.. It was good to get off the bike to take photos today, made me stop and appreciate what I usually either hurtle past or ignore while I grit my teeth and try not to hyperventilate uphill. Looking at the photos now has made me promise myself that I'll stop and take it all in more often.

jeans = levis I think?
Boots = Redback workboots with the steelcap showing.. I figure that's a bit like that tag on the seatbelt of your car that says "if you can see this, replace me." If it wasn't for the levers I'd be sporting a brand new pair :LOL:

@Martin. That's a shame, you could probably pick up a reasonable retro knockabout for $50 when you get here, beat the hell out of it and dump it at the airport when you leave.

Good :cool:

Found nothing very local that's interesting to ride (and I'm only talking decent singletrack) but Google maps is getting a pounding in my search ;)

I remembered the camera again today. Spring has sprung, Daylight saving has kicked in and we have even had some rain!! I haven't seen the rivers full in many years.
