Will wheels built with the radial/2??x be strong enough for off road though?

The rear is radial non-drive and 3x drive, I've had a few sets like this and though they wont stand up to big hits or freeride I've never had a problem with them going out of true. That said I'm pretty light at 140lbs and this bike probably wont get thrashed too hard.
