The first gravel bike in history? Cinelli content

Optimistic price, definitely overselling it's importance to and prominence in the history of off road cycling. It's a nice early consumer hybrid.

People were riding on gravel with the very first bicycles made in the 1800's 😉
I rode 3 speed sit up and beg roadsters on gravel in 60's, in fact any bike we could lay our hands was ridden on whatever happened to be beneath us 🤷🏼

Thomas Stevens rode round the world (on a penny farthing) in 1886 - he would have had to wait 16 years for tarmac to be invented🤣

Of course the Gravel Bike is a marketing concept - a frame built for drops but with a wide range of gears, good brakes and fatter tyres, often offering a higher level of comfort and fittings.

Used to be called a tourer, until invented by US brands

It's a good job Kiwi's didn't "invent" the Gravel Bike as they call gravel roads metal, so we'd have Metal Bikes...
