Had this in the shed for a while, its my third series 1 Quadra. This one looks low miles and is fully original bar the tyres and look pedals (I have some 1050 pedals kindly given to me KARMA by @trailwright (thank you geez). I am a sucker for the simple precision of the 6sp 1050 gruppo and with Uniglide cassettes being thin on the ground I intend to make this 13-24 cassette work. That means swapping the chainrings for 50/38 instead of the 52/42 biopace items as I'm not 18
Going to do a full service and use as my summer bike this year.
Mine had the same issue, I bought mine off of @bagpuss for beer money, really cheap. It was rough. Jo rather unkindly christened it "The Turd"Thanks @Guinessisgoodforyou. My other two seemed to suffer with excessive corrosion on the top tubes. Maybe some very sweaty owners or insufficent primer from the factory. So far so good on this one.
Come, friendly bombs...Hello Dave!

The finest thing to have come out of Slough
With better equipment that would make a nice bike, I'd have oneAn update on the beloved Raleigh Royal...British Bike in name only?View attachment 950336
Surprisingly rare, c2012
Described as "hand built", but with a basic stamped dropout.
I don't think there's a single uk component on this bike, probably nothing from europe, even the steel is 4130, us style.
Perfectly usable at £350 used though, it's got a happy new owner who massively preferred it over a similar priced aluminium hybrid.
