Went to see The Zutons at the BIC last night. Quality gig. Played a good mix of old and new songs.
Not busy by any means though but totally enjoyed it

line-up!!! still listen to neds stuff, used to do covers of 'happy' and 'nothing like' in a band i was in during 6th form (only one bass player tho) also did 'homophobic asshole' by senseless things.. good times

This came up on pistonheads recently so I'll copy my answer from there:

U2 at Wembley Zooropa (1992?) tour was my first stadium gig and a great introduction, but the one which sticks in my minds the most was Foo Fighters on the Melody Maker stage at Reading 95. Bjork was on the main stage headlining the night and nobody was there! There were people hanging off of people hanging off of people from the top of the scaffolding all over the Melody Maker stage. I just read that a fair few people got hurt in the crush. I was right up front and it was immense.

I'd have killed to see Queen. Wembley 86 must have been amazing. I'd have loved to see Hendrix at Woodstock of the Isle of Wight if I'd been alive at the time.

We used to write a fanzine, so caught a lot of bands attempting to interview them and such like. Spent a bit of time on the road chasing The Fall and The Au Pairs I recall...

Then a big break from gigging in the early Nineties (although bought a ruck of R&S Belgian techno) before being coaxed out once more by the likes of LTJ Bukem and the Moving Shadow possee....

Queensryche at the Manchester Apollo in 92ish, playing their Mindcrime tour, still stands out for me.

I thought the Foos were awesome at the O2 in 07.

If I could go back in time, I would want to see Maiden at Long Beach when they recorded 'Live After Death'.

Prince at the o2 was seriously amazing

I thought this was dull, went to the last night and he refused to play any of his hits all the way through because he was poncing around saying how great he was!

I was there too, my first ever gig, me an my mate traveled down on a bus from Scotland for it. Any other gig kind of pales in comparison.

I remember that was Inxs' first big support, Hutchins got an apple in the nuts for slagging of the 70,000 crowd, along with a few bottles of "juice" in his direction.

Other good gigs were Dave Lee Roth (with Steve Vai), Early Meatloaf and a few Hawkwind concerts!

I missed the Circle of Light Tour in Red Square, Moscow ... my sister had got me tickets mixing up my holiday dates with my parents - they thought they were quite good if a little loud.

Has to be the Stone Roses at the empress in Blackpool in around 89 or 90- shite vocals from Mr Brown as ever but the rest of em were superb. A very close second goes to Spiritualized at Nottingham Rock city in the late 90's, absolutely sublime. Another favourite was Echo and the Bunneymen at Buxton Pavilion around 83-84 in the biggest snow storm I have ever seen- all the roads were blocked and hardly anyone made it to the gig- me and my cousin vertually shovelled our way there in his trusty series 1 Landie. Ian McCulloch was and still is the coolest dude ever!
