Would you happen to know the actual red colour code used on the frames?
I have a 93 (I believe) FSR sworks with the separate titanium seat post/tube clamp, and it desperately needs new paint.
No but if you find out let me know. I’ll probably just use tiny pots of Airfix/Humbrol paints if I do touch up any storage scratches. But I like original condition unrestored patina items generally. Like it’s only original once, with the scars to tell its history.
So ‘draft no1’ was built really quite quick and easy this afternoon in a couple of hours. Really enjoyed doing it this way with most of the parts ready to go and then hitting it all at once, rather than bit by bit each week when something arrives.
I’m really happy with the overall look, its just great with the Maguras I feel. Really pleased with the yellow touches.
still some final bits to be done and some parts to be changed;
- the club roost stem had far too big stack/height on it at 50mm so a spare Azonic with 45mm went on for now. So will need to source the proper one.
- the gold riser was then used rather than the NOS black one, as the cockpit will be off/on again for stem, grips, hose swap in a week or so.
- the bar grips need to be one long and one short for the griphsift single side, ules lock on’s no good, so will need to find originals.
- the top tube decals & printed race number mounted are still to be ordered from Gil as finishing touches.
- just used the middle Pace chain ring 36t that came with the cranks, till I decided what size is best for regular use. But what was JMCs for this race
- looking at the original poster it seems to me like the black rear derailleur cable outer loops +half way up the rear wheel/triangle.
a few build pics for you till she’s finished properly and then some Hollywood shots can be done in the sun another weekend when more of the final parts are on.
I believe you're looking for a Goat Gobbler.
My memory might be playing tricks but I believe I was told that Andy Kyffin (NWMTB centre) designed them specifically for Jason and maybe a few others at the time, billet block seat tube clamp with a big roller on it.

Half of it can be seen in the opening pic on this thread, the other half I think is in this pic below, which appears to be taken at the 1994 Reebok Eliminator race.
