Tell me about these twisted spokes?

Picked up these wheels earlier which have these crazy twisted sapim spokes. I’ve not seen this before and I’m interested to know the logic behind them?

Thankfully all spokes are present.

No idea to be honest. Quite a high end wheelset but they have been used

The builders spokes were a little too long, so he persuaded the customer that this would look cool

I've seen twisted spokes in low riders, guess it's for the gits and shiggles in this case.
