Tell me your opinions on the brand and the bikes. Were the trek ones really bad or was it the ownership of a big company that stank. How good are they(ore/post trek) to ride and what was the big differences in the range? Anything really.

kLEIN made THE (fluo) paintschemes in the 90's. And they had the frame/forks/MC combo's wich made them very nice I think. Thats why I bought one. It's now wall deco because the GT rides better then the Klein does.

are the pre-trek better ...I dont know. Dont think so, its just the thing between your ears if you ask me. I dont like the Trek klein when the had the strange headtube wich was smaller at both sides.

there you go klaus, forget the klein and buy a GT

what have i always said ...?

i rode a couple bitd and apart from the lack of weight they (for me) were
nothing special ,others may disagree

probably

they were light, rigid with great paint work. Best alloy bike ever made. Ahead of their time in so many areas
The Trek Kllein are rubbish.
The Adroit was the one to have with boron carbon sections.

Why are the trek one rubbish though? FWIW I've never paid too much attention to them apart from the first one I ever saw...then I saw the price which put them out of my mind almost indefinitely. I do feel drawn to Rascals though.

Love the GT big up!

The Trek were like cheap copys the build was nothing compared. The 'Palimeano' (sic) is a tipical example - very nasty. The Trek Adroit was Adriot in name only with no boron/carbon.
The Rascal is an excellent Klein

The late REAL Klein Adroits were Attitude frames (with smaller size downtube and non carbon inserts).

Thing sh#t about the old Kleins is that most of them are cracked at the seattube. Thats the reason why I dont ride my Attitude with the seatpost that high (see my Attitude) every bump I think...did it crack now?

Dont get it wrong, I love the paintjob, the way they look, the welds and the way they made their fuselages. Have had multiple 'real' Kleins the past few years. A dolomite Klein (with cracked/cut off seattube) made me find retrobike, but are they my holey grail....nope.

Still dont understand why the newer Trek Attitudes semms to be rubbish. I dont like them but thats just beacuse the way they look.

The Trek Kllein are rubbish.

Trek bought Klein in 1995. The manufacturing stayed in Chehalis until 2002. The Palomino didn't show up until 2004. It's not as simple as "pre-Trek" and "post-Trek".

From that statement then the pre/post trek myth is a complete load of rubbish? All 90,s bikes were built in same stable?
