Tech Support?

Nearly (fk me, i'm never going to take a fully working keyboard for granted ever again) I bought a replacement E key +hinge from ebay.. it was delivered today.. when i removed the old T, i bust the nylon hinge at this point

..because you have to lift it over these hooks

..i couldn't see the hooks because they were under the key and the 2012 macbook pro is on the cusp between two different hinge mechanisms (depends how you lift the key) anywhoo, this time i lifted the key without breaking the hinge.. cleaned it with IPA, it was pretty clean but i did dig a very small hair out from under the nipple (middle age for you : ) , popped the original E back in with the same hinge and it works perfectly.

Same drink as what @Betsy is having please. That is a "K" not an "E" nor a "T".:confused:

EDIT - OK, Now I get it. The "K" was for the internal gubbins for the "T".

When I was at college my first summer work placement was at a large sized computer repair company - being the newbie, of course get told to undo the screws of an old IBM keyboard then flip it over. No membrane, just mechanical contacts and a tiny spring under every key. What a mess.
