but Mark you are custodian now so its up to you and only you, just our opinions like.
Way I see it this bike is special for two reasons:
1. Its an ex racer, star bike, its seen things experienced things, and is proud to display its wounds and stories.
You can add your adventures to its CV.
2. Its titanium OMG! and a great British bike (i think thats the case anyway), and hosts equally trick kit.
With some servicing and a few useful and originalish parts what an awesome bike to get darting the XC again in retro fashion.

You may well be right about the forks, i'm certain they ain't steel as there is no corrosion on the scar's. Where they are back to bare metal it looks too dull to be alloy though. I'm sure it'll all come out in the wash, not many things escape the eagle eyes on this site. Thanks for identifing the bar ends also.MikeD":1ob5ucat said:

Sadly, I could never afford a replica to his Dyna Tech, in fact when I started MTBing my first bike was a Team Raleigh replica......18speed jobbie in replica team colours! I put a Girvin Flexstem on it and rode it with pride in my Team Raleigh top......even got top 3 placings on it!

I would lower the front mech. as there is only suppose to be a few millimetres between it and the top ring, the cantis not working are probably because (or M900's anyway) tend to be best pinching at close to the end of the brake pad stud, also hence lowering the straddle height.
Or it could just be the Aztec's, get something better.
Also I do not like the 'upgrade Ti bolt' in the chainset, the allen bolt looks much better with the M900 chainset.
Some of the stickers (large orangey triangles) so look like they are dangling off, maybe just change them if you must

Re: ropey brakes - if the back end of this frame is anything like my old MT4, the brake bosses are ludicrously far apart. I always had to run the brake pads sticking out as far as they possibly could to get the angles right, and even then it wasn't much cop. I think I ended up with Maguras with the mounting hardware swapped left to right. Or something.
Drool. I had an MBUK poster of the team, including that actual bike, on my wall as a kid. I'd say that bike represents the exact time when my schoolboy MTB obsession was at its absolute peak, and I mean it was intense! I could have reeled off its entire original spec list for you as a teenager, but can't help now I'm afraid!
One comment - no wonder the brakes are rubbish, look at the angle the rear cable takes through the noodle around the seat tube! That needs a section of housing or something to sort out the friction. Bet you've thought of that already though.

A few pointers for you:
1) A lot of the Raleigh team bikes of the time used Hope ultralight front hubs so you don't really need to change that.
2) If you want Bonty rims then go to Sjscycles.co.uk, they have blue and red spots in stock.
3) I seem to recall that some of the team used roadie bar tape in place of grips on the bars.
4) Brakes are probably shite because the blocks are glazed or hardened and rims old and worn. But I also remember that Dave Baker used Mafac types at one point
5) The tyres should be Continentals
6) The frame is Metal Matrix rather than Ti, bit like Specialized M2
7) Would have thought that the forks were steel rather than Ali as that's what the Special Products Division at Raleigh specialised in.
8 ) Pedals should be Wellgo if clipless
