Tape for chrome-paint joints?

Hi All,

I've had one of my frames re-sprayed, and the paint shop managed to keep the original chrome on the rear triangle. I've got chrome joining powder coat on the stays and I thought I'd put a narrow strip of tape around it (I believe that's how it's often done on vintage bikes).
Any suggestions what tape to use? While my heart is longing for the good old electrical insulation tape, its glue very often liquifies and fails, so I suspect I need to use something else.

Thanks.

I used good quality electrical tape, pop it on a piece of perspex and then cut it to width (3-4mm). Then wrap it round the transition and use a tiny wipe of super glue on the overlap to keep it from lifting.
