Tange 9H forks 1" threaded

Can anyone tell me the quality of the Tange 9H forks?

I've just stripped my 1978 Super Mondia down for a refinish and the forks (which I knew were not original) are the above.

The forks have a 190mm steering tube and weigh just a little under 900g

The dropouts are stamped "TANGE TRA" or it might be TRH. No eyelets.

Thank you
Matty

Re:

I believe the stamp 9H is a date stamp, mine are stamped 3c and I believe the bike is a 1983 build. So my guess is your fork is either 1979 or 89.

900g is on the heavy side, so not great I'd say. You can get steel ones more like the 600g level or even below.

Re:

Thanks for the replies.

900g is defo not 531 or equivalent for sure.

I need some other better forks for my lovely 1978 Super Mondia.

Re:

30mm is bizarre - most road racing forks are 43-45mm, which gives normal handling with a 73-74 deg head angle. This fork would give very slow handling. Nice for TTs when you're tired but not great for dodging potholes, and awful in a bunch of riders because the bike will want to take a wider line than everyone else. I wonder what it was designed for?
