Well I hauled her home today. Needs a new headset and BB, rear wheel was totally destroyed - it's wearing a few merlin hand-me-downs at the mo

Teardown has continued today - BB came out smoothly, and a replacement UN55 ordered. Replacement headset ordered too.

It'll be ready to hit the trails for £53.49

With the BB and headset replaced it rides pretty well. It's a bit long and high at the front though so i'll pick up a new stem when I see one

Took it out today. Stiff, but good fun. Needs a shorter stem.

there's a rightness to the way it looks imho. It rides right too.

I've had a largely-comparable Kona Kilauea in the past. This picks up quicker but the kona was more compliant. The Merlin does both, but the frame cost 2x what these bikes did back in the day
