I have a SatMap with 2 cards for full UK north and UK South OS maps. Battery life isn't great, screen isn't huge (3.5")

Basically looking for a GPS mapping unit with a larger screen (4"+ ), longer battery life and smaller. Since the days when the SatMap was released, mobile phone technology has progressed so that may be an option. Note the phone app must work without having to use mobile data (I am on PAYG) so I guess the map has to be downloaded to the device.
Also my preferred mapping format is OS maps.
It would be nice if the device could shout out instructions where to turn when riding a downloaded route and if it can do the same for roads (a car satnav) then that'll be handy.
Anything out there that is an improvement?
