Crikey - quite a lot of choice. I was clearly ignorant about this size. I thought everything was 27.0 or 27.2, with road stuff being smaller. Perhaps that's a bit more modern standard.

Does seem there's a trend for American frames to be 26.8.

Hi all, I've done a lot of lurking on this site, and far too much buying too. I now have a genuine, if a bit weird question...

What nice old MTB frames take a 26.8 seatpost?

I ask because I have a lovely and possibly unique mid-90s X-lite seatpost which has a lot of sentimental value, and unfortunately it's this weird size. Any help would be appreciated!

Shims and any frame you have will do.

It´s about the timeline: tubes grew fatter as they got lighter. Bontragers use 26.8 w/ few exceptions in their line ups. Fat Chances used to be 26.4. Ritcheys were 26.8, 27.0 and 27.2
