T-minus 7 days… (1991 Rocky Mountain Altitude)

Wow frank, that`s a looker. Let us know how the brake shudder goes. I have a feeling it might be a fact of life with syncros noodle and a syncros fork, it`s something I have been wondering about for my blizzard. I am a big fan of crown mounted stops but of course, this is not an option with powerlites.

thanks for all the comments! :D

the XTR canti on my RM Titanium doesn't seem to exhibit the shuddering with similar setup of Powerlite fork and Syncros stem with cable noodle guide. think i just need to fiddle some more with the brake pad fitting, or perhaps new pads altogether. thought i'd try these used set as there's plenty of life in them. maybe try swapping the front/back. :?

Re:

spent some time yest to adjust the brake pads and i'm pleased to report I've managed to do away with the front brake shuddering! :D

Isn't brake shudder a early form of ABS?

Glad you've sorted the issue. Beautiful bike!

maybe, but the brake/rim shudder noise associated with the early "ABS" was intolerable!

yep, i had them on the Cirrus so i had to move them over. so a few bits had to be shifted from other bikes to make all this come together the way i like. thx again for the assist! ;)

i had vowed this was a completed project and i wouldn't go back and change anything. but i snagged this set of Altek canti brake levers which i couldn't resist and now am so tempted to mount these to the Altitude.

what are ppl's thoughts… nay or yay??? :?
