started cabling up the bike yest, still need to do the r.mech with a red ano cog hog. just got in the grips and installed them today.

toying with brakes, think i'll stick with the NOS set of black ControlTech canti, although i've been having thoughts that perhaps i should go with some other black brakes, but not sure what.

hopefully will get the rebuilt wheelset back this w/e.

I think either control tech or black version of the m734? Whatever the model is... But they are as pricey as the CT's...

the CT are canti brakes??? :?

Yeah, I said stick with them. "The bike needs canties. Please stick with them".

As you were threatening to change to something else which I can only assume means V-brakes.

i was excited go get the rebuilt wheelset today, which has been ready since last week but hadn't the time to make the run. however, i received an unpleasant shock due to some miscommunication when i did pick them up. :?

really dampened my excitement, but regardless, the wheels are done and i feel i made the right choice in rebuilding the wheelset. and setting them with black walls, i think they are spot on.

i've put on a set Ritchey AlphaBite SC 2.1 labeled tyres temporarily for now. strangely the rear is labeled the same as the front, but the markings on the mold says they are Zmax SC, and the treads are different from the AlphaBite front specific treads and instead are Zmax pattern. looking to find a set of tyres 1.9 or even smaller, though the 2.1 don't look too bad.

think i may go with silver set of CT canti brakes instead of the black as i had intended. although they also look good on the Thunderbolt as well.

for now i've put on a flite transalp i picked up from shutter and prob will remain unless i find something else i think is more suitable.

lookin good! I think silver is better... the black are nice but they get lost in the black fork legs...

I would de-polish the crown on the powerlite by setting up a date between the crown and a green 3M pad :D

So, what was the "unpleasant shock"

.

Love it! Also great to see you fitted some nice Steerhorns. I have a pair on my '92 Blizzard, they are very comfortable!

I'm quite surprised they work on the Altitude. I had tried them on the Titanium and looked wrong for some reason. :? I actually listed them for sale briefly at one point till I got the Altitude, and thought I'd hold on to them to give them a try again. Glad they didn't sell. :p

Bloody cold today, but braved the elements to give the Altitude it's first test run. Not everything is final, but enough of it to get a sense of it complete.

And I'm pleased with it!
