T-minus 7 days… (1991 Rocky Mountain Altitude)

i'll give the black IB a go once it's all built up just for you. they both use the same axle width so it's a fairly quick swap. ;) although i'd have the move the position of the f.mech, as ones compact and the other is standard rings.

I like your final choice for the chainset Frank. The difficulties lie in you having too many nice pieces to choose from  ;)

Love the RF IB's with the red spider... I feel a little less bitter now that I lost out on that auction. ;) If you're going with the silver/red IBs, I agree with the red grips and yellow-gripped Xrays. From there, I'd keep the rest of the anno/colour to a dead minimum. My old Avid levers would look good---black and silver. Classy. What are you thinking for a brake set? Love the fork. XT front and rear mechs? Excellent choices if that's what you're thinking.

Just loving the build Frank. Coming together top notch.

If any one happens to have, or have a lead on a yellow flite ti kevlar with red corners, please let me know! ;)

Dang, I had that exact saddle last year. Think I sold it on eBay.

Arghh… say it ain't so Pete!

ah well, at least i know there's a least ONE of those saddles that exist out there. may just go with a standard black flite. perhaps the colour combo would be a bit much.

so installed the XT m735 f/r mech, courtesy of timoshenko. got to check out his collection in person at his man cave yest. wow is all i can say.

also dropped off my wheelset i need rebuilt to jamswinna. should have that back next w/e. so in anticipation of that, thought i'd fit the front wheel off my Cirrus to see how it would look, which has a similar red hub/rim setup, but it'll have silver spokes and black nipples. as well wanted to see if my first option of rust walled IRC Mythos XC tyres would work. gotta say that the tyre is a strike. :p

for a second option, i considered a set of red/brown Ritchey Megabite Zmax skinwalls, but i don't think that'll work either. not only in colour but they are fairly large profile, being 2.1/2.35 which would look too fat for the frame size. so option 2 is prob a strike as well.

most likely will go with a a set of skinny black wall Ritchey Megabite Zmax. oh and i found my set of Syncros steerhorns! :)

started cabling up the bike yest, still need to do the r.mech with a red ano cog hog. just got in the grips and installed them today.

toying with brakes, think i'll stick with the NOS set of black ControlTech canti, although i've been having thoughts that perhaps i should go with some other black brakes, but not sure what.

hopefully will get the rebuilt wheelset back this w/e.

that bike needs to have canties. Please stick with them. I would vote for a bulkier saddle though. Turbo or shoulder holder or something like that.

the CT are canti brakes??? :?

i don't own/have a Turbo. how do they ride compared to a Flite? I do have a black RM Shoulder Holder, but those weren't fitted to RMs till 92.

I find Flites more comfortable than Turbos because they're flatter.

It all depends on your riding style. Turbo I find better for more cruising around but flite is for more aggressive riding. Including all my mountain and road bikes, Half have Turbo and the other half have Flite.
