Yeah, I think shims are only going to work with pinch-bolt stems rather than wedge clamp ones like Syncros unfortunately

I reckon those integrated pinch bolts would still grip against a split sleeve reducer that would then in turn grip against the steerer... you'd need to align the split perfectly between the the gap between the two wedges on the stem so that they grip either side of the slit and close it up against the steerer... that's the theory anyway!
