Swapping brake lines

Checked and mine as Shimano left and right, fixed reservoir, so can't be swapped.
Spent some time yesterday cleaning and fitting an xt wheelset with panaracer tyres, then I run out of daylight.
Got to address the brake swap another day.
It's incredible how much time it takes to clean everything when the final fitting is a 10 minute job!

I would get new olives to be honest.

That would be the proper job, but you'd need to cut the hose, fit new barb and olive. You might be able to still swap hoses without bleeding.

You can still fit new Olives if the quick swap didn't work.

Completely agree.
For the background of my first post:

These are tasks that I usually mess up the first time. So I prefer to have all the parts there. I think there's nothing worse than messing something up and then walking out of the shed with nothing accomplished. It puts me in a really bad mood.

Also I wouldn't experiment with brakes (again) either and the olives are there to deform and thus seal. I had a brake fail once and that was enough for me.

But I agree with you, it can also work without problems.

But when you're breaking the
"best behaviour" rule...
It's very useful to have a statistical estimate of the chances that you are heading for disappointment, and what lies at the end of that trip.

Getting it wrong comes in many different strengths!

Otherwise known as the internal risk assessment! Useful in so many areas of life, but seemingly missing in many.
