Surly Moonlander

This thread's riveting! Thanks for the answers Saltyman; these bikes really do feel like the " new retro. " They encourage you to just go out and ride. Pure offroad pleasure.

Quiet day at roanhead beach today, lots of space, only me and the wildlife.....lots of it dead!

The moonlander was superb, played in the dunes, wet sand, dry sand, just great fun.....perfect day.

Few pictures as usual.....

Main reason I got into fatbikes was after seeing pics of them in all sorts of interesting places.

I'm one of these people who ride alone, away from people, away from trail centres and the like.....I prefer being a lone explorer.

Great when your out and seeing things others don't get to see, i prefer to take a slower look at life, a much enjoyable one.

I ride a bike to relax and to de-stress, not to see how fast I can go downhill or show off my new expensive kit.

Love it

Enjoyed another great day at the beach today, rock crawling was the aim, and another go through the boggy marshland where the rear was spinning last time.

Rear tire reversed was awesome this time, no issues, just power along, hit the bog, and it kept on going.

The bike handles slow rock crawling very well, surprisingly better than the smaller rimmed pugsley. I thought the tires would bounce around like a pinball off the rocks, no problems though, just nice and slow, steady away and the 4.7" BFL just absorbs, grips and rolls you over.

Few snaps from today, the ice is because the water has very little salt with the feed being from the hills and mountains.

Absolutely freezing today, large amounts of frozen sea water at roanhead, south lakes, but was desperate to get out with the fatbikes....

Just a nice early afternoon playing on the dunes, collecting interesting sea shells and a bit of sand blasting along the soft stuff to see how the pugsley coped in the moonlanders tracks.

Great day with the girlfriend

The sand was super soft near the water, a good test for flotation.....even the moonlander at 5psi was slow through here, the pugsley was even more draggy, and I had to get my girlfriend to follow in my tracks to get back to the dunes.
