Hello all . I am hoping someone here can answer a couple of questions about the Surly cross check frames I have before I splash out and find problems that I had not forseen
To start with I have a donor bike that I would like to transfer most of the components from . It is a Dawes Kara Kum it is about 20 years old and has seen hardly any use .
It is in mint condition . It has the followig spec
700c wheel set , Shimano Parallax q/r hubs , Mavic T221 eyeleted rims .
Panracer 700x35c tyres fitted.
Shimano Deore Rear mech . Shimano front changer .
27 speed . 9 speed Shimano cassette .
Shimano Deore Hollow tech triple chain set .
Shimano Deore V brakes & shifters . Pedals with toe clips .
Kalloy adjustable handle bar stem & butterfly touring bars.
Kalloy Suspension seat post with a Royal gel saddle .
2 bottle cages .
Specialized trip computer.
Bell and pump fitted .
Rear rack.
Full mudguards.
I bought it for its parts knowing it was not my size .
I know the seat post will not fit and nor will the handle bar stem as it is a 1 inch diameter sized one [Old school}
My other concern is the V brakes . Will they fit a Surly cross check frame .
