Super U peloton at the Chiltern Cycling Festival, 13/7/2014?

I met the chap who is running this when I was at the PACE jumble on Saturday, he's a nice chap.

I'm disappointed the retro ride is only 30 miles so I'm going to do one of the longer rides and just enter my grimy bike in the concours d'elegance, but it looks a good day all in.

have a look, it might be a chance to put together a Super U peloton for the day!

that's not so far - I'm sure you could ride down, do the hill climb, ride home?!

Old Amersham's a lovely town and the surrounding area's very nice too, you could make a weekend of it and stay at the hotel where they filmed some of 4 Weddings?

Very convenient for me and just the right target I need to have SB1988 ready for its first outing. Might need to start a new build thread...

Hi all - glad the Chiltern Cycling Festival seems to be getting on the Retro Radar and we will be delighted to have as many of you ride as we can on July 13th especially in the Amersham Classic & the longer routes. We have already spoken to a few groups about having their own team start time etc. so please shout if you want to reserve space / team entries etc. http://www.chilterncyclingfestival.com
We look forward to welcoming you all to Amersham this summer

Regards

Hmmm, I could make that. I wonder what's on in the Retrobike Road calendar for that month ?

I might do the 100 miler on my Retrobike, anyone else up for that ?

you definitely should try, I ran into Nick, the organiser, a couple of Sundays agon in an excellent cafe in Old Amersham.
I didn't know it was him until he complimented my bike (653 Castorama Cyfac/Raleigh) and asked if I'd heard of the festival - I told him I'd posted on here and he offered me the group start option if I can round up some teammates.
I'm in for the 62 miler, my wife, daughters and some friends with their families are coming along in the afternoon.
I don't think I'll enter the hill climb, I'd like to keep my lunch!
My friend Simon is running a small vintage jumble as part of the day, so you may even get some shopping in!
