Suntour XC Pro Thumbshifter rebuild and upgrade

Now its get a bit fiddly, but not complicated!

The selector plate disc goes on top of the bearings.

But first take a good look at the parts left. They basically only go together one way as they have recesses, grooves etc to match their fellow part.

The selector plate disc has 4 holes, 2 of which are marked with small circles......USE THE OTHER 2......these holes must sit over the bearings.

Note the lug on the rhs of the spline.

The selctor plate arm goes on top....the arm has 2 indents....these go over the bearings.

Next the outer section of the top cap goes on.This is where thing start to get lined up.
Ideally to make life easier orientate the outer cap as shown with the selector notch roughy at 90o from the lever part. It should engage fully with the arm....its cut out to do so..

Now put the centre of the top cap in. It will only go fully on in one position. You remember the lug on the spline ?.....well that has to go into the notch in the top cap centre. BUT at the same time the the centre will only go into the outer in one position.....thats the alignment taken care if.

If its correct, the three bits will all line up onto the spline and each other.

If its not correct, you won't be able to see the groove for the circlip as the whole assembly will be sitting proud.

Finally put the circlip back on and screw it back to the base.....

Well there's nothing worse than being stuck...sometimes it helps to have a bit of a guide. Also, it might get some old kit back in use.
